Trump Says He’s Having Productive Talks With Dems, Republicans On Coronavirus
(Washington, DC) — President Trump says he is having very productive talks with Republican and Democratic lawmakers on the coronavirus crisis. During a White House briefing, Trump announced that the government will temporarily waive interest on federal student loans. Enforcement of standardized testing for students is also suspended. Meantime, Dr. Deborah Birx warned that no one should think they are immune to the coronavirus. Birx also cited data from Italy that the mortality rate for men appears to be twice what it is for women. She called it concerning.
Birx is a top member of the White House coronavirus task force. She again said everyone should be practicing “social distancing.” VP Mike Pence cited ongoing progress on the availability and distribution of coronavirus test kits and ventilators. Pence also said Americans should postpone any elective surgical procedures.
