Moultrie County Health Department Announces Second Confirmed COVID-19 Case
The Moultrie County Health Department (MCHD) announces a second confirmed case of Coronavirus-2019. The patient is a male in his 30s who is currently quarantined at home. Public health officials are contacting and verifying all of his close contacts.
To date, 24 Moultrie County residents have been tested for COVID-19. Of those tests, 21 tests were negative for coronavirus, and one is still pending.
As the Novel Coronavirus-19 becomes more widespread among out communities, the MCHD cautions everyone to consider themselves at risk for exposure.
All individuals should stay home as much as possible; remain vigilant about covering coughs and sneezes; and frequently wash their hands with warm water and soap. Those who are ill should take extra precautions to isolate themselves from others.
In alignment with recent CDC recommendations, the health department is encouraging families to send only on person and to war a face mask if they must make trips into the public.
