(Charleston), IL –The Coles County Health Department received notification at 8:16 a.m. today of one additional laboratory confirmed COVID-19 case, bringing the number in the county to three.
According to Administrator Diana Stenger, “Coles County Health Department officials are completing detailed contact tracing for any confirmed case per IDPH guidelines. The Coles County Health Department continues to identify and actively monitor individuals who were in contact with the confirmed cases in an effort to reduce the risk of additional transmission. Coles County Health Department will not be releasing any identifying information regarding positive COVID-19 cases in order to maintain confidentiality, privacy, and HIPAA guidelines.
We can expect additional confirmed cases in Coles County.” Stenger encourages all residents who develop flu-like symptoms such as, but not limited to, fever, cough, shortness of breath, and/or sore throat to stay home and contact their health care provider before seeking care. In the event of an emergency requiring immediate assistance, you are encouraged to report to first responders your symptoms to help control and prevent the spread of any possible transmission of any potential contagious illness. We must continue the discipline of adhering to public health guidance on social distancing, frequent hand washing, disinfecting commonly touched surfaces and staying home, especially during this holiday weekend.
