Cities Concerned About Dwindling Revenue
(Urbana, IL) — The city of Urbana is concerned about dwindling revenue from the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic. Urbana Mayor Diane Marlin says she doesn’t know what the future of the city will look like. The stay-at-home order has led businesses to shut down and caused tax revenue to plummet. Many other cities and villages are in the same position. Many mayors hope that the next federal supplemental aid bill will include money for cities to offset the lost revenue.
