One person was seriously injured in an accident this morning in Clay County. According to the Illinois State Police, a van driven by 25-year-old Damien Sons, of Xenia ran off the roadway and struck a tree. He was air-lifted to a nearby hospital with life threatening injuries. The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
