According to the Illinois State Police, a head-on collision this morning claimed the life of 28-year-old Richard Reed III, of Mount Carmel. Reed was eastbound on Route 50 when he crossed over into the westbound lane and struck a tractor trailer driven by 70-year-old Raymond Kemp, of Montgomery, Indiana. The investigation continues.
