According to the Illinois State Police, an 89-year-old Charleston man failed to stop at the intersection of Lerna Road and Old State Road and struck a vehicle driven by 18-year-old Gabriela Adamson, of Toledo. The Charleston man died at the scene. Adamson was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The deceased name is being withheld pending notification of next of kin. The crash remains under investigation.
