The American Red Cross of Illinois is accepting nominations for Real Heroes – those who selflessly put the well being of others before theirs and who have demonstrated heroism through acts of courage and kindness. The heroic act must have taken place during the 2020 calendar year or be ongoing. Candidates must live or work in the following counties: Clark, Clay, Coles, Christian, Crawford, Cumberland, Douglas, Edgar, Effingham, Fayette, Jasper, Macon, Moultrie, or Shelby. Nominations are due by December 31st at redcross.org/hero.
