Thursday, December 17, 2020, Ed Dowd, Executive Director of the Mattoon Chamber of Commerce was a guest on 101.3 WMCI. Here is a brief description of what he covered during the interview:
- Reminder to all business owners. Despite the pandemic the State of Illinois is going forward with the minimum wage 5 year plan. Thus, as of January 1, 2021, the minimum wage will increase another dollar per hour reaching $11 per hour.
- They have had record numbers at Mattoon’s Lightworks at Peterson Park this year. If you have not had a chance to see the displays, they have increased the quantity and quality of the displays. The park is open through December 27th from 5 -9 pm. It is worth the trip!
- Please make sure to think local, shop local businesses and utilize local restaurants for carryout and delivery to help them the rest of the year and next! Happy Holidays and wishing everyone a wonderful 2021.
