Thursday, January 7, 2021, Ed Dowd, Executive Director of the Mattoon Chamber of Commerce was a guest on 101.3 WMCI. Here is a brief description of what he covered during the interview:
- As part of the new Coronavirus Relief Bill that is bringing $600 to individuals is a second round of the Payroll Protection Program, (PPP) for small businesses. In the first round of the program Mattoon businesses were very successful in getting forgivable relief. 349 different Mattoon small businesses received a total of nearly $25 million in forgivable loans to help keep their employees paid and not have to let them go. The full details of the new program which applies to those who received funds in the past will be coming out this week or next. Business owners can contact their local bank, accountants or the Chamber for more information.
- The Chamber is eternally optimistic and has plans for holding the Golf Classic at Meadowview Golf Course on June25th and our Business Expo and Taste of the Expo on October 7th. More details coming soon!
