Six people were injured in a crash on the Dieterich Blacktop last night, Monday, February 8, 2021. According to the Illinois State Police, Dani Escobar, of Evansville, Indiana lost control of his vehicle in the snow, crossed the center line and struck a vehicle driven by Ricky Burton, of Salem head-on. A three-year-old passenger and 25-year-old passenger in the Escobar vehicle were ejected. All injuries, including those of a 4-year-old boy and another adult passenger, are non-life threatening. Escobar was ticketed for failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident, improper lane usage, and no valid driver’s license.
