Thursday, February 11, 2021, Ed Dowd, Executive Director of the Mattoon Chamber of Commerce was a guest on 101.3 WMCI. Here is a brief description of what he covered during the interview:
- The Mattoon Small Business of the Year recipient for 2020 is West & Company Accounting firm. Their partners and staff do an incredible job of giving back to the community. They have contributed their time, talents and treasures to many not for profit and social service agencies throughout the years. They have contributed to the Eastern Illinois University Ambassador Scholarship for local students, Elevate CCIC Inc. The United Way, and ClassE just to name a few. Their partners and associates have served as members of The Mattoon Chamber, the Kiwanis Club, Mattoon Rotary, youth sports organizations and as ClassE mentors. Brian Daneill the managing partner was a youth sports coach for over 30 years and even coached Alex Hagen as a young athlete. Alex is now a partner in the accounting firm.
