For Immediate Release – March 1, 2021
Coles County Clerk Julie Coe reminds voters that Early Voting for the April 6, 2021 Consolidated Election is now available.
Any voter interested in voting early may cast their ballot at the County Clerk’s office in the Coles County Courthouse at 651 Jackson Avenue, Room 122, Charleston or Salvation Army Citadel at 1300 Richmond Avenue in Mattoon.
Early Voting offers an opportunity for any registered voter to cast their ballot prior to Election Day. Early Voting is available Monday–Friday 8:30-4:30 thru April 5, 2021 at the County Clerk’s Office and 9:00-4:00 at the Salvation Army Citadel. Both offices will be closed on Friday, April 2, 2021. Both offices will also be open on Saturday, April 3, 2021 from 9:00-12:00.
Coe wants to remind early voters that any vote cast is final and may not be revoked and the voter will not be eligible to cast a vote on Election Day.
Coe also says that, unlike in the November 2020 General Election, all voters must go to their polling location to vote on Election day, unless they need to make a change in their voter registration.
Voters seeking more information about Early Voting or Vote by Mail may visit the County Clerk’s website or by calling 217.348-0523.
