Microsoft Says Chinese Cyber Hackers Struck Its Exchange Email Servers
(Redmond, WA) — Microsoft says a sophisticated group of Chinese hackers have breached its popular email service. In a blog post, the company says four software weaknesses were exploited and the hackers got access to its Microsoft Exchange servers. The company is urging users to download software fixes for the vulnerabilities that were found. The company believes the attack was carried out by Hafnium, a group believed to be Chinese-sponsored. Microsoft says the group “primarily targets entities in the U.S. across a number of industry sectors.”
