The Mattoon Police Department will be stepping up patrols in advance of St. Patrick’s Day. Officers will be on the lookout for alcohol- and drug-impaired drivers, as well as speeding, distracted driving and enforcing seat belt laws, particularly at night. Remember, if you plan to celebrate, be sure to designate.
