The National Weather Service in Lincoln has issued a Hazardous Weather Outlook for Cass-Champaign-Christian-Clark-Clay-Coles-Crawford-Cumberland-De Witt-Douglas-Edgar-Effingham-Fulton-Jasper-Knox-Lawrence-Logan-Macon-Marshall-Mason-McLean-Menard-Morgan-Moultrie-Peoria-Piatt-Richland-Sangamon-Schuyler-Scott-Shelby-Stark-Tazewell-Vermilion and Woodford counties.
This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of central Illinois, east central Illinois, southeast Illinois and west central Illinois.
DAY ONE…THIS AFTERNOON AND TONIGHT… Strong south winds with gusts up to 45 mph will persist into early evening. This could lead to difficult travel for high profile vehicles, especially on east, west facing roads.
DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN…TUESDAY THROUGH SUNDAY… Breezy south-southwest winds with gusts up to 35 mph are possible Tuesday afternoon. Shower and storm chances return late Tuesday night into Thursday. Some stronger storms will be possible across central and southeast IL Wednesday afternoon and evening. Heavy rainfall is also possible.
