Marine Honors Monticello War Hero Over Memorial Weekend

(Monticello, IL) — A U.S. Marine used Memorial Day weekend to pay tribute to a Vietnam war hero from Monticello. Kyle Kakouris ran fifty miles in honor of Private First Class Robert Burke. Burke is the youngest Marine Medal of Honor recipient to be buried in Monticello cemetery. He died at the age of eighteen fighting in the Vietnam War.
