Lela “KoRena” Sanders, 80, of Windsor passed away Sunday, April 17, 2016 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Decatur. She was born August 20, 1935 in Seymour, MO the daughter of Joseph and Minnie Milligan. She graduated from Seymour high school, MO and from Lake Land College at the age of 59. She and Paul Sanders were united in marriage on May 6, 1953 in Seymour, MO. KoRena retired from Eastern Illinois Area Special Education and had worked as an activities director for the Masonic Home in Sullivan, J.C. Penney’s, and owned and operated the Windsor Tastee Freeze.
Surviving are her husband Paul of Windsor, daughter Brenda (Tracy) Floyd of Windsor, two sons Lionel (Nancy) Sanders of Windsor and Howard (Sandy) Sanders of Sullivan; seven grandchildren, eight great grandchildren and brother Rev. Dempsey Milligan of Sterling, CO. Preceding her were her parents, four brothers and four sisters.
Visitation will be Tuesday, April 19, 2016 from 5pm until 8pm at the Windsor Christian Church. Funeral service will be 10:30 am Wednesday at the church. Burial will be at the Windsor Cemetery.
