Terre Haute Police Officer Killed In Ambush At Federal Courthouse

(Terre Haute, IN)  —  A Terre Haute police officer is dead and the suspected shooter is being treated at the hospital following an ambush at the federal courthouse in Terre Haute. It happened yesterday afternoon. Police say the suspect shot Detective Greg Ferency while he was outside the building. An FBI agent shot and wounded the shooter. Investigators are not offering a possible motive for the attack. The FBI says Detective Ferency was working with an FBI task force and had been a Terre Haute police officer for 30 years. A news conference about the shooting is planned for later this morning.
