Illinois House Says No To Madigan’s Proposed Millionaire Tax

State lawmakers are voting down House Speaker Michael Madigan’s proposed millionaire tax.  The constitutional amendment failed yesterday to make it through the Illinois House.  The proposal would have imposed a surtax on incomes above one-million-dollars.  This is the second time in less than a year the amendment was voted down.
