Newton Business Appears to be Total Loss

What’s believed to have been the oldest structure in Newton appears to be a total loss.  Yesterday’s Pub caught on fire last night, and firefighters were still on the scene of the blaze this morning.   Damage to the longtime fixture on the courthouse square is extensive.  Fortunately, there were no injuries.  No word on the cause of the fire.
