Durbin Expresses Support For End Of Afghanistan War
(Peoria, IL) — U.S. Senator Dick Durbin is expressing support for the end of the war in Afghanistan. The Illinois Democrat says it was the right thing to do when he voted in 2002 to authorize U.S. involvement in the country. Durbin added that the initial goals of the conflict were met ten years ago, and that U.S. efforts lost focus after that in the open-ended conflict. He says Congress should look into setting a deadline for ending conflicts when future authorizations of military force are made.
