Visitor Who Misspelled Moderna On Fake Vaccination Card Released From Jail
(Honolulu, HI) — The visitor arrested for having a fake vaccination card at the Honolulu airport last weekend is now out of jail. The 24-year-old woman from Illinois gave a tearful plea to a judge yesterday, promising to make a virtual court appearance later this month, and stressing that she’s “not a bad person.” The woman is accused of misspelling Moderna on the card, and lying about her hotel reservation. She left the airport before verifying her documents with screeners, and was able to illegally avoid quarantine on Oahu for five days. She was arrested at the airport after arriving for her return flight. During the past month, seven people visiting Hawaii have been arrested for allegedly trying to use phony vaccination cards to scam their way out of quarantining.
