Fallen Officer’s Family Loses Home To Fire

(Makanda, IL) — Family members of a fallen police officer face more tragedy after losing their home to a fire. Fallen Brooklyn, Illinois Police Officer Brian Pierce Junior’s home in Makanda was destroyed by fire early Christmas Eve morning. Six members of the Pierce family were inside at the time and were able to get away from the flames unharmed. Officer Pierce died while on duty back in August when a suspect in a chase ran him down.
