A Wayne County deputy was shot and killed early this morning. According to authorities, Deputy Sean Riley responded to a motorist assist call on I-64 just before 5:00 a.m. When another officer arrived at the scene, Deputy Riley was discovered deceased. The suspect then stole the deputy’s patrol vehicle. The vehicle was later located, leading authorities to believe the suspect, or suspects had fled on foot. A manhunt is currently underway. The suspect being sought is also a suspect in the shooting of a man at a QuikTrip in St. Peters, Missouri just after 7:00 a.m. today. The suspect took the wounded man’s vehicle and fled. The vehicle is a white Nissan pickup with license plate number OWEA43.
