Kentucky Man Charged With Killing Illinois Deputy

(Wayne Co., IL) — A Kentucky man is accused of killing an Illinois deputy and shooting someone in Missouri during a carjacking. Ray Tate has been charged with murder in the death of Wayne County Sheriff’s Deputy Sean Riley, who was shot and killed during a traffic stop yesterday morning near Mill Shoals, Illinois. A man was later shot and carjacked at a QuikTrip in St. Peters, Missouri. Tate was arrested that afternoon after barricading himself inside a home in Carlyle, Illinois.
