Doug Abolt, President & CEO, announced today that the Annual Dinner & HEROES Reception Event has been postponed. Read the announcement below:
After much discussion and consideration, it is with mixed emotions I share with you a decision has been made to postpone this year’s Annual Dinner Celebration & HEROES Reception. This decision was reached before our January 10 Reservation deadline and our end of the month scheduled events.
The intention is by no means to move the events to some type of ‘virtual’ format or cancel altogether. Similar to what we did last year with the Tour de Charleston bike race, our goal is to simply hold both our Dinner and HEROES Reception at a later date.
To say the least, the last 18+ months have been challenging for people, our businesses and The Chamber alike. If held a couple of months ago, it would have perhaps been just fine. However, at this time, there are increased strains on our community, especially in health care and education environments. It is clear to many of us that elements of the Pandemic are impacting large events like ours at this time. It makes event planning difficult at best but – not impossible.
Those that have already agreed to Sponsorships and/or purchased tickets, we will reserve your tickets for the event. With the on·going support of our members and Sponsors, we will plan to celebrate both our Award winners and HEROES. We look forward to celebrating soon and – seeing you then.
Sincerely,
Doug Abolt
