Group Rallies Against Plan To Extend School Day In Champaign

(Champaign, IL) — Tensions are high over a plan to extend the school day for elementary students of Champaign Community Unit School District 4. Hundreds of teachers, faculty members, and parents rallied against the proposal before yesterday’s school board meeting. Opponents believe the idea of extending the day by 50 minutes makes no sense. The matter is currently in negotiations.
