March For Our Lives (Coles County) rally for common sense gun legislation

On Saturday June 11^th at noon there will be a gun safety rally on the North steps of the Coles County Courthouse in Charleston, IL. Silver Damsen, co-chair of Coles Progressives and Mac White, chair of the Coles County Democratic Party are sponsoring this rally to raise awareness for increased legislation on gun safety and to coincide with the national March for Our Lives rally in Washington D.C. The Coles County Democrats and Coles Progressives are calling on our local citizens to show up in support of common-sense gun legislation. Participants are asked to wear masks and encouraged to bring signs to show support or there will be signs available. There will be speakers sharing their stories, offering support and guidance on what to do to help stop this senseless carnage. Due to the horrific school shooting in Uvalde, TX on May 24^th we are asking our friends and neighbors to come together in a show of solidarity in the hopes of getting something done.
