Gas Price Relief Comes for Hilltop Skilled Nursing & Rehabilitation Caregiver
CHARLESTON, Ill. (July 07, 2022) – To recognize her work as part of its staff appreciation, Hilltop Skilled Nursing & Rehabilitation Center – the 99-bed skilled nursing facility in Charleston, Ill. – helped one lucky employee get some relief from high gas prices. Staff member Nichole Bassemier was awarded $1,000 per month for gas and car payments.
Bassemier, a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) Supervisor at Hilltop, won a drawing open to all 90-plus staff members that awards her $500 per month for gas and $500 per month toward a car payment for the next two years.
A resident of Charleston, Ill., Bassemier was the winner of Hilltop’s annual “My Why” employee appreciation raffle. To enter, staff members just needed to submit their answer to “why” they liked working at the skilled nursing facility. She wrote, in part:
“By working at Hilltop, I have become ‘family’ to some residents, and I help them to not have that feeling of being alone. I make a difference by building relationships with the residents.”
She was chosen as the winner through a random number draw on a company-wide Zoom call.
In her job, Bassemier – who has worked at Hilltop for three years – personally cares for residents, helping them with their physical and emotional needs. She also has additional tasks including ordering the nursing supplies, taking all residents’ weekly or monthly weights, managing the CNA team that works with residents, and more.
“Nichole is one of our highly respected caregivers and she is extremely deserving to win this substantial – and very practical – staff appreciation bonus,” said Nancy Gelsinger, Executive Director of Hilltop Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. “We appreciate the job all of our teammates do to make Hilltop such a warm home for many in our community.”
