A pedestrian was struck and killed by a tractor-trailer this morning in Lawrence County. According to the Illinois State Police, 66-year-old Julie Ivers was in the roadway on Bridgeport Road when she was fatally struck by the rig driven by 83-year-old William Latch of Sumner. Ivers died at the scene. The accident remains under investigation.
