The Mattoon School District and the Department of Early Childhood will be offering monthly screenings for parents of preschoolers to discover how the kids are developing in the areas of speech, language, concepts and motor skills. Vision and hearing screenings will also be provided, free of charge. Screenings will be available on the first Wednesday of each month from August through December. Please call Franklin Preschool to schedule an appointment at 217-238-8800. Screenings are available for 2 to 5-year-olds.
