Speedrobo’s Vassay Unveils New Game: “Eat Putin!”
MATTOON – Speedrobo Games announces today the official launch of “Eat Putin!”, a new board game where players pursue Russian President Vladimir Putin across time and space with carnivorous intent. Rhydon Vassay, owner and founder of Speedrobo Games, made the announcement today with the launch of a Kickstarter crowdfunding campaign to bring “Eat Putin!” into homes and gaming halls across the country.
“We make good games that are actually fun to play,” said Vassay, “and what could be more fun than chasing down dictators while being a dinosaur?”
As a player, you become a time-traveling dinosaur investigator from the future, trying to stop Putin’s machinations before he destroys the world. “It’s a fun concept,” Vassay said. “Putin’s a tricky little target. He has several ways of escaping, even when you think he’s cornered. He may not go down easy, but each dinosaur team has tons of zany cards and abilities to use!”
Vassay’s Kickstarter campaign has already raised over $1,100 toward the game’s launch, with an ultimate goal of $5,000. Speedrobo Games has committed to donating 20% of the game’s profits to humanitarian organizations that support Ukrainian refugees.
Speedrobo Games opened here in Coles County in 2013, as a final project of Vassay’s participation in ClassE. Its flagship title, “System Gate,” created waves as a tabletop card game. Earlier this year, Vassay celebrated the grand opening of his new retail shop, Space Boat Games, at 1818 Broadway Ave. in Mattoon.
