Girls’ high school basketball:
Tri-County plays Paris, Sullivan takes on Okaw Valley, Cumberland hosts Dieterich, North Clay @ Red Hill, Newton faces T-town, Windsor/Stew-Stras against Nokomis, Altamont plays CH/BC, city braggin’ rights are on the line as Effingham squares off with St. Anthony, Marshall goes to South Vermillion, Casey-Westfield vs. Martinsville, another version of the “cola wars” as undefeated 6th ranked Tuscola hosts #19 Arcola, and Pana plays Taylorville
8th grade girls’ state tournaments:
1A: Sigel St. Michael’s battles Lincoln West in the championship game at 7:30 at Clinton Junior High
2A: Brownstown against Nokomis for third place at 6:00, followed by the title game between Paris Crestwood and Mt. Sterling-Brown County. Those games will be played at Havana High School
