What is the FAFSA & why it’s important? The Free Application for Federal Student Aid is a form completed by current and prospective college students in the United States to determine their eligibility for student financial aid. Completion of the FAFSA is a graduation requirement. IF you are not planning on attending college after high school then you can complete a non-participation form to satisfy the graduation requirement.
What should I bring to the event?
Since FAFSA is an online form, please bring a laptop or Chromebook to the event, as well as the following info:
• Your 2021 federal tax returns, W-2’s, and other records of money earned.
• Banking statements and records of investments (if applicable).
• Records of untaxed income (if applicable).
• List of colleges you would like to attend.
Additional information you will need if you are completing the FAFSA:
• Social Security Number. Be sure it is correct!
• Your Alien Registration Number, if you (student) are not a U.S. citizen.
• An FSA ID to sign electronically. (This can be created beforehand at fsaid.ed.gov, or at the time of application).
