SBL Hosting SportsWorld Outreach Community Event
Sarah Bush Lincoln Healthy Communities is hosting SportsWorld Outreach assemblies at local schools in October, and, in addition, will host a community event for people to hear a professional athlete share valuable life advice.
Tom Gilles, a professional snowboarder, will speak to the community from 6 to 8 pm on Thursday, October 19, at the Family Worship Center in Mattoon, located at 5475 Lerna Road. Middle school and high school students are strongly encouraged to attend.
Gilles will talk about the consequences of choices, personal value, peer acceptance, achieving your dreams and other topics. He will share how his life has changed and encourage attendees to make positive life choices. The SportsWorld motto is, “You’re not born a Winner; You’re not born a loser; You’re born a chooser.”
