Illinois lawmakers are moving forward with an automatic voter registration bill. Senate Democrats approved legislation that would automatically register eligible voters in the state when they receive or renew a driver’s license or state ID. Governor Rauner hasn’t announced if he is backing the measure but did say he is a fan of simplifying the voter registration process.
