‘Wear Red’ Events Highlight Women’s Heart Health
(Paris, IL)—Horizon Health is hosting two events in observance of National Wear Red Day in February.
In addition to its annual “Wear Red” women’s luncheon, an evening program will be offered. Both events will take place Friday, February 2, at Betty Jane’s Banquet Hall, 1249 N Main Street, in Paris,
The luncheon is from noon to 1 pm. Speaker Eva Kirchner, Horizon Health registered dietitian, will discuss heart healthy nutrition tips in recognition of American Heart Month and the fight against heart disease. The cost is $20.
The evening event is from 5:30 to 6:30 pm and will include appetizers, drinks, and food tasting. Speaker Mary Liz Wright, nutrition & wellness educator at the University of Illinois Extension, will present “Sourdough for the Soul.” She will discuss the health benefits of sourdough bread and provide baking tips. She will also highlight the health benefits of fermented foods. The cost is $15.
All community women are encouraged to wear red and bring their sisters, daughters, coworkers, and friends to the events.
