The Future Educators of America (FEA) received the Outstanding Club Award at the 2016 annual Lake Land College Club Recognition Luncheon.
During the past year, FEA participated and facilitated numerous activities that benefited both the club and community. Activities included hosting a bake sale with the proceeds going to the One Stop Community Christmas, a Frozen Kid’s Day Event, making Valentine’s cards for Big Brother and Big Sister participants, participating in the One Stop Community Christmas as personal shoppers, providing recreational activities for the Johnston Music Festival and participating in the Spring Carnival.
To be eligible for this honor and considered an active student club, each club must accomplish its objectives as stated in the club’s constitution and bylaws, maintain a high attendance and participation record of its members, maintain adequate minutes of its meeting and records of its activities, have an up-to-date roster of its members and officers, have complete and accurate financial records of its activities and be a solvent organization. The club must present this information to the Student Government Association (SGA). The club adviser must then submit an application and a statement evaluating the club’s activities. The applications will be evaluated by the SGA vice president and approved by the SGA.
