Heart scans offer peace of mind, detecting possible early signs of heart issues with a CT scan
Quick and painless, offered at HSHS St. Anthony’s Memorial Hospital for $99
EFFINGHAM, Ill. — With February being Heart Health Awareness Month, HSHS St. Anthony’s Memorial Hospital and Prairie Cardiovascular remind everyone to be good to their heart and schedule a heart scan. These quick, painless heart screenings done on a CT scanner detect early buildup in the coronary arteries.
“The best way to treat heart disease is by detecting it early so that you can make lifestyle changes or get further testing or treatment to prevent more serious issues,” said Sheri Barnett, DNP, APRN, with Prairie Cardiovascular.
Those who have the following risk factors should especially consider having a heart scan:
- Family history of heart disease
- High cholesterol
- High blood pressure
- Diabetes
- Overweight
- Smoker
No physician order is required to have the screening, and it is only $99.
To schedule a heart scan, call 800-900-1540.
