The Illinois Department of Public Health says the first bird in the state has tested positive for West Nile Virus in 2016. Douglas County Health employees collected the blue jay last week in Arcola Township. West Nile is transmitted through a mosquito bite. Common symptoms include fever, nausea, headache and muscle aches.
