Coles County GOP Elect Officers

For Immediate Release – Tuesday, May 7, 2024

The Coles County Republican Central Committee had its’ Annual Convention last month and elected Mark Esarey as their new Chair. He replaced long-time serving Chair Travis Coffey, who chose not to seek re-election.

Also elected unanimously were George Edwards, Vice-Chair and Lisa Walk, Treasurer. Elaine Komada was appointed Secretary.

“We are only as strong as our candidates and volunteers,” states Esarey. “To both maintain and add to our current majority, for some time we have been aggressively recruiting candidates for Coles County Board, Election Judges and Precinct Committeepersons. We look forward to the November election and will do our part,” he adds.

The Coles County GOP added 33% more Precinct Committeepersons in conjunction with the recent election primary. “With the next election always just ‘around the corner’, we are constantly looking for volunteers. We want to expand our efforts on the campus of Eastern Illinois University and Lake Land College also,” concludes Chair Esarey.
