Flightless Honor Flight, November 6
We are looking for veterans of the WWII, Korean War, and Vietnam eras to sign up. We are looking for veterans who are physically unable to go on an actual flight. Land of Lincoln Honor Flight prefers those able to go on the flight because it is how this honor was designed, but for those physically unable to do that, this is a way they can experience it and be honored.
The veterans have a “mail call” during the event – we need people to write Thank You cards to put in the bags. They can drop them off to Carolyn at the Chamber or send them or drop them off at the LifeSpan Center (11021 E Co Rd 800 N, Charleston). We hope to have 12 veterans for this event, people can write 12 cards or 5 cards or 1 card.
There will be a reception at 10:00 a.m. on the day of the event and the public is welcome.
People can contact the LifeSpan Center 217-639-5150 or Carolyn at the Mattoon Chamber at 217-235-5661.
