The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers at Lake Shelbyville announces that the 2016 Draft Lake Shelbyville Master Plan is now available for public review and comment. The plan will be available for comment through July 14, 2016. The draft plan, which includes an Environmental Assessment of proposed large-scale projects, contains input received from public workshops held last fall.
The draft Master Plan is available online at:
http://www.mvs.usace.army.mil/Missions/Recreation/LakeShelbyville/LakeShelbyvilleMasterPlanUpdate.aspx or http://tinyURL.com/Lakeshelbyville. Hard copies of the plan are also available for review at the Lake Shelbyville Project Office.
The Master Plan is a “strategic land use management document” that directs the conservation and management of recreational, natural, and cultural aspects of a water resources development project. The draft is regularly updated with new information and terms. The Lake Shelbyville Project Master Plan was last revised in 2004. The current plan is tentatively scheduled for completion by late September 2016.
