IEMA-OHS to Hold Exercise of Quad Cities Nuclear Generating Station
SPRINGFIELD – An exercise to test the emergency response plan for the area surrounding the Quad Cities Nuclear Generating Station is scheduled for February 2026. Exercises are held for each of the state’s nuclear generating stations to further train state and local staff about required operations during an incident.
Enclosed is information regarding emergency preparedness for the Quad Cities facility. The information is being provided to the media to become familiar with the Illinois Plan for Radiological Accidents (IPRA). In the event of an incident at any of the stations, the media would play an important role in providing emergency information to the public.
Details about the February exercise, which is closed to the media, will be provided closer to the event. If you have any questions about emergency plans or wish to schedule a separate training session for media, please contact the Illinois Emergency Management Agency and Office of Homeland Security (IEMA-OHS) Public Information Officer Haley Williams.
Please post this notice to ensure that all media personnel are advised of the exercise and the training opportunity.
