The Mattoon softball team scored an impressive win over Casey-Westfield Tuesday evening at the Roundhouse. The Lady Wave built an 11-2 lead after four innings and held for an 11-8 victory. Ava Leo was the winning pitcher for Mattoon and certainly helped her cause with the bat. Leo walked, smacked a two-run homer, and delivered an RBI-double to lead the attack. Alyssa Whitley hit a three-run double as part of her 2-4 day at the plate. Alayna Gordon had a double, single, and two runs batted in. Alana Perez and MJ Cowger each added RBI-doubles. Anna Karras, Lucy Moore, and Arhi Bonds had runs batted in for the Lady Warriors. Mattoon improved to 7-8 on the season while Casey-Westfield fell to 23-3.
