A Charleston man has found himself back behind bars after police say he tried to sell a stolen vehicle online. The suspect has a history of stolen vehicle charges and was actually out on pre-trial release from previous cases.
Officers were dispatched to the 900 block of 18th Street on Tuesday, June 2nd, following a stolen motor vehicle report. When they investigated, they discovered that 32-year-old Rowdy R. Brown had reportedly posted the stolen vehicle for sale on the internet after it was taken. Brown was located and taken into custody without incident.
The arrest carries added weight because Brown was already on pre-trial release at the time in a separate case involving possession of a stolen motor vehicle and possession of methamphetamine. He has since been detained at the Coles County Jail.
All subjects are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
