The 1st Annual Ronco Classic Donates to MHS and CHS Football Programs
A small idea turns into a huge success! The Ronco Classic, a golf outing to honor former local distributor and lifelong Mattoon resident Bob Ronchetti, was a great success with spots filling up in less than 3 weeks.
“Through our amazing sponsors, fellow golf players and all the incredible businesses who donated raffle items, we were able to present Mattoon and Charleston High School Football Programs each with $20,000!,” said Tammy Ronchetti, Bob’s wife and event coordinator. Ronchetti, who passed in early June of 2025, loved his communities and supported them in many ways, but he also loved football, coaching, supporting local businesses and volunteering his time to help those in need. Tammy’s dream was to create and host an event that would honor this great man.
Bob not only loved and played football but volunteered his time to coach kids at the Mattoon High School for over ten years. ”It was an easy decision to do a golf outing with proceeds being split between MHS and CHS Football Programs,” Tammy said.
Special thanks to this year’s Ace Level Sponsors: The Ronco Group – Joe Dively, Tom Grunloh, Bob Jones and Jim Zimmer; The Ronchetti Family, and Chuck Trover; Double Eagle Sponsors: Co-Lab; Diepholz Auto; Drake Homes; and First Mid Bank & Trust, Birdie Level Sponsors: 1st Fed of Central Illinois, BG Wealth, Central Roofing, Century 21/Kima Properties, First Neighbor Bank, Koerner Distributing, Pilson Auto, Sarah Bush Lincoln, Slumberland, and Towne Square Jewelers.
Tammy also commented, “It takes an army to not only put an event together but to make it successful. I am fortunate to have had that army of incredible volunteers behind me! Thank you so much! We look forward to next year’s 2nd Annual Ronco Classic on Friday, June 25, 2027.”
