The Drive Home with Greyson

Hello! My name is Greyson Baumann and I started with Cromwell Media Group of Mattoon in 2026 as a full-time on-air personality. I host “The Drive Home” every weekday on 101.3 WMCI, from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m., and enjoy fielding your requests for our “All Request Drive at Five” every night too!

I grew up in Charleston, Illinois, just down the road from our stations. I am grateful for the opportunity to do something I love in the community I’m from. I am all about family, I guess that’s what happens when you come from a family of 8! My parents are Kevin and Emily Baumann and I have 5 brothers and sisters: June, July, Gunther, Grady, and Garth. As for my extended family, I am pretty lucky to have some of them in our listening area too!

I went to Lake Land College and their Broadcast Communications Department after a two-year stint at Eastern Illinois University. Prior to working full-time for the Cromwell Group of Mattoon, I worked at a local radio station group out of Taylorville, Illinois for two years. While there, I was writing news, calling sports, and hosting several on-air contests and shows.
In my free time when I am away from radio, I really enjoy spending time outdoors or traveling. For me, camping with my friends and family is a perfect weekend. I also like to hike, kayak, and fish on occasions too. I have been to a few different countries and would love to get out there and see more of them! I might also play a few video games and have most of the retro consoles I grew up on.

I’m also big on sports. I am a life-long Chicago Cubs fan because of all the Cubs radio I grew up listening to with my dad. Men’s College Basketball is my favorite sport to keep up with, I stay rooting for the University of Illinois. There’s nothing better than March Madness. I also enjoy watching my Chicago Bears every Sunday and keeping up with the NFL as a whole. But, I wouldn’t ask me anything about soccer and hockey!
