Mattoon residents who have thoughts on where the city is headed will get a chance to speak up next week… The City of Mattoon is updating its “Comprehensive Plan,” which guides future decisions on growth, development, infrastructure, economic opportunity, and quality of life, for what could be years to come; and city leaders say they want residents involved in shaping it.
A public hearing is set for Monday, August 17th, from 5 to 6 p.m. at Burgess-Osborne Auditorium, located at 1701 Wabash Ave; just South of the Mattoon Police Station.
Residents who attend will have the opportunity to review the draft plan, ask questions, and share ideas before it’s finalized. The draft “Comprehensive Plan” is already available to view on the City of Mattoon’s website for anyone who wants to look it over ahead of time.
Resident input is a key part of the process and anyone with a stake in Mattoon’s future is encouraged to take part. If you can show, you are more than welcome to do so!
